Teamwork

Teamwork is understanding how to communicate well with a team. To have good teamwork everyone involved in the team must do there best to help each other. Customers recognize good teamwork when food is served quickly, and everything involved in the service is done efficiently. Also, customers can recognize bad teamwork when things start going wrong. I could demonstrate good teamwork by:
helping another server take out plates if they have a large table
asking for help if i need assistance
when in the kitchen, helping someone finish an order if they need help

I think servers are uncomfortable with complaints because conflict is difficult to deal with. Servers feel uncomfortable because it is there job to give the guest the most satisfying experience possible and sometimes it is difficult to fix the problem. If the server takes the complaint personally, then they can feel very uncomfortable. It is important that the server does not take the complaint personally, and listens to the problem and handles the problem the best they can,

rapport

Rapport is an unconscious interaction that is between two people who share a common perspective. It is important to have this interaction with your customers when you are in the food service industry. Customers appreciate that connection with their server because it makes their experience more enjoyable. Rapport can be built by matching body language (posture) and keeping eye contact. It is important that rapport is geniune because the customer will see though it all if it is fake.
